What would you do if you were being transferred for work and had to sell your house but didn’t know exactly when you’d have to move? In this video, I’m going to share the experience of Deidre, a client of mine that faced this exact predicament. Despite complications from the pandemic and the stress of moving, Deidre was able to successfully relocate in a short amount of time.
Deidre’s Story
Deidre’s story made for a stressful situation. She needed to move to another state for work but didn’t know exactly when she was going to be able to move because of the coronavirus. Interestingly, her husband had just gone through the process of selling his house in another state. After seeing the repairs and complexity of the process, Deidre really didn’t want to have to go through the same thing.
She was dragging her feet and had less than 30 days before she was going to have to leave. Her initial plan was to put her gorgeous house on the market—until I contacted her. After explaining what I do, Deidre admits she was still skeptical. When I met her and further explained the process, she felt comforted by the amount of information I was giving her.
Seeing her husband go through the process of working with a realtor, setting appointment after appointment, and completing mounds of paperwork, made my option appealing. From repainting the trim to replacing the roof, Deidre’s husband bent over backward to appease his buyers. It was one thing after another, and she really wanted to avoid the hassle.
With my offer to Deidre, there were only a few minor fixes we did as a team, with nothing paid out of pocket. Repairs were quick, and I was able to use my connections in the industry to put on a brand new roof. The best part is that everything went exactly how I explained it to Deidre from start to finish.
Finding A Solution
Deidre’s favorite part of the process was how quick, easy, and simple it was. If she had questions, I would quickly tell her not to worry and show her how we would fix it. Deidre felt that I always had a solution to any questions or confusions she had. With just a quick phone call, every issue was taken care of.
As a worrier, Deidre brought up a variety of concerns and questions. It was no sweat for me. The process was smooth, and I worked hard so Deidre wouldn’t have to worry. And that’s what I love. I know that selling a house is one of the most stressful things a person can go through. Making the process easy is my favorite part. When the timeline is short and there are extenuating circumstances, I needed to make Deidre feel at ease.
Thankfully, Deidre didn’t have to sell her house from a new location or stay longer in town than she wanted. With an agent, she says, there’s no telling when you’ll sell a house. It was one of her concerns, and by choosing to work with me and my team, those worries were lifted.
Deidre’s Advice
I asked Deidre what she would tell someone else in her position. Her biggest piece of advice is to just trust me. Because everything I said was exactly how the process went, she felt like her expectations were met and all the information was straight to the point. This helped alleviate her worries and concerns so she could just relax.
From the time we met to the time we closed, the process took about 3 weeks—a week earlier than planned. Deidre didn’t know when she was going to leave, but I told her it didn’t matter. Whether she needed to stay in the house longer or get out sooner, she was able to stay in her home until she was ready to go. I made sure there was flexibility for her to further reduce any stress.
Do You Need To Sell Fast?
As you can see from Deidre’s story, we were able to give her the amount she needed so she didn’t have to bring money to the table at closing. She was also able to leave on the date of her choice. We had planned to close this deal at the end of the month, and she ended up having to move it up by more than a week. We were able to close within that week’s timeframe.
If you have a property that you need to sell quickly—or if you owe too much on your property and it needs some work—please give me a call. I’d be happy to sit down with you and figure out how we can solve whatever problem you have. I can’t wait to talk to you!
